April Favorites 2016

Well April's over with. Yeah it's over.
The older I get the faster time passes me by, it's criminal. Actually.
I've been trying a ton of products the past 4 weeks, and narrowing them down to the best of the best was harder this time around.
So let's jump right in to it before I remember another product I love.

Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Foundation
If you're following me on Instagram, then you saw my post the day I brought this home. I was eyeing it up literally since the day it released on Sephora's website, and I had made plans with a friend to head to a Sephora about on hour away to try it out (the Sephora near me is a small store inside JCPenney). Then one day I strolled around another local mall, and there was the entire Marc Jacobs line. I swatched the shade Cocoa Light, and it matches perfectly. If you haven't tried this out for yourself I highly recommend it. The thousands of reviews honestly don't even do it justice.
I don't wanna go in to too much detail now, I'm working on a full review that will be posted in the next couple of weeks.
I've been using this foundation almost everyday, at first I tried to limit the usage, this thing is $55 ya'll. But the coverage and finish is unbelievable. This will definitely be in my yearly favorites. Yeah, it's major.

Milani Prime Shield (Matte)
This primer was released alongside the brand's new 2-in-1 Concealer and Foundation. I have oily skin, but love a full coverage foundation.. so I often find that a few hours into wearing a foundation I'm shining bright like a diamond. This primer smooths, and keeps my skin more matte than any high end primer I've owned in the past. And it's under $10. Win, win.

L'Oreal Brow Stylist Definer
Holy hell, I honestly don't know how I've survived this long without this damn brow pencil.
I'm a dedicated user of the Anastasia Brow Pomade, but I'm also a dedicated sleeper, and full time snooze button offender. I wake up late 7 days a week, and the Brow Pomade makes doing my brows a 10minute process. Needless to say I needed a substitute to help speed up the process a bit. The color is perfect, the pigmentation is perfect, it's creamy, the pencil is retractable, and there's a spoolie on the opposite end of the pencil to groom rowdy brow hairs. This is my savior. It's comparable to the Anastasia Brow Pencil for about half the cost, and I think it might be better. I still love my Dipbrow though, don't get it twisted.

NYX Soft Matte Cream in London & L.A. Girl Lip Paint in Elude
I rediscovered this soft matte lip cream while cleaning out some beauty products in March and I almost tossed it because it's quite nude for my skin tone. But paired with the lip paint it's gorgeous.
I let the lip cream dry down, and then add a few dots of the lip paint on my bottom lips and rub it in a little..ugh, it's beautiful.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
Yes, I know I'm late to this party, but I just never understood why anyone would spend $5 on 25 makeup wipes. I got bills, and I'm broke. So I never bought them. Last month my boyfriend actually picked these up for me when he ran into a drugstore. Now I understand all the hype. These things take off every single ounce of makeup. There's nothing really more to say about them. If you're in the market for an amazing makeup wipe and haven't tried these, trust me, spend the extra couple of bucks. You won't be disappointed.

Well that's everything for this month, like I said in intro, I've been trying a bunch of new products, can't wait to see what make it into May's Favorites.

Thanks for reading ! XO

October Favorites

Hi pretty.
Happy November ! My favorite month. In case you were wondering.
October flew by, and with it just a few products that I couldn't live without.

 1. Mainstays Pumpkin Pie Candle
I am in love with this candle. I have it in my room and after a half hour or so my room smells like a bakery.. just full of delicious spices and sweetness, UGH.. it's just great.
2, Mainstays Apple Pumpkin Candle
After I fell in love with the Pumpkin Pie scent, I had to run back and grab this one. It's not as sweet as the pumpkin pie but I love it just the same. As soon as the first one ran out, I immediately started to burn this one and again, I have no complaints. You can purchase them both at Walmart.
3. Chapstick in Pumpkin Pie.
Are you beginning to see a trend here? I bought this for like a buck because.. I mean, you never DON'T need chapstick. Threw it in my purse and forgot about it for a few days. Then when I reached in, I pulled it out and surprised myself. It smells exactly like pie. That's about it.

June Favorites

So we've reach the end of yet another month... that's crazy.
June was probably the fast month this year..I can't believe it's about to be July. Where the hell have I been ?
Ugh.. anyways.. It's finally summer so expect some more bright makeup posts and maybe even some summer tags.
There's not alot of favorites this month, I've been avoiding drugstores, ULTA, and Sephora like it's my job. I'm saving up to buy a new car after I graduate.. so Sorry folks.
But I did find a bunch of old makeup that should be making their way into posts.. exciting I know.

Blabbering on about nothing.. Here are my favorites for the month of June

Urban Decay's All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
I've had this product in my posession since last... July ? And I remember I bought it because someone had recommended it to me and I recommend this to EVERYONE.
It's oil-free and paraben-free. So that's good right? I have no idea what that means.
But it helps my makeup last all day and all night. I don't worry about any of my makeup disappearing when I'm wearing this, and that makes me happy.

Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes
I love these because I go out alot and usually don't get back in until the very early morning hours.. and I'm way too lazy to wash off my face at 4am. =/
Judge me.
But these are great because they really cleanse my face. The towelettes themselves are SOAKED with face cleansing stuffffff. You can literally see the cleanser on a  wipe when you pull it out of the package.
And because I'm so lazy I've been buying these in the little 5pcks since May and just throwing them in all my purses, handbags and clutches so when I'm on the way home I can just quick pull theses babies out and get a freshface and faceplant into my bed without any hesitation.
JUDGE ME

Urban Decay's Naked Palette
This is never not one of my favorites, but I haven't used anything else this month. at all.
I recently got a job and because I have to wake up early to get ready, I don't wanna really complicated makeup routine. With this palette I can throw together a look in like 76seconds and be done with it. Which is good for me because I always wake up at the latest time possible so that I get to work the second I have to clock in. =] YAY for sleeping in ..?

Seriously though, if you don't have this palette I highly recommend you go somewhere to get this baby.
ULTA recently got re-stocked, and the sephora near me has them.. FINALLY. So pay the $45 and get this thing. It'll save your life.

Aveeno Continuous Protection Sunblock for Face SPF 70
Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm completely obsessed with my skin. The skin on my face especially. Every morning I put about a dime sized amount on my palm and then dab that on my cheeks, nose, forehead and chin and RUB THAT SH*T IN. I sit in an office all day.. but I don't care.. because I do have to drive to work for 20minutes.. and the sun peeks in. I know.. weird.
But yeah, I use this everyday, before my makeup, ritually.
It's a good investment. Better to be safe than sick with cancer.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance
This month I went back to using my Urban Decay primer potion.. and was disappointed.
I found it way too oily my liking, so after abour 5 days I went back to this and I love it.
It's a eyeshadow primer.. so it helps make your eye creation last all throughout the day.
No matter what brand, no matter the texture.. your eyeshadow will last.

OPI Silver Shatter
Okay, So I thought I was over the whole shatter nailpolish addiction, until I realized I hadn't even used this.
I bought this when it came out [like a true makeup addict] on Mother's Day and just threw it in 1 of 3 of my nailpolish containers. This month I pulled it out, and I LOVE THIS.
I've been using it literally every chance I get.
If I could I would probably paint over my walls with it.. but at $8 a bottle.. that would probably get a little expensive.
Oh well.
Here are some pictures of just 2 of the ways I used this Shatter polish this month

Ugh. Did I mention that I love this stuff?
Cuz I do. I definitely do.

So What were some of you guys' June Favorites?

MAY FAVORITES

Hi Everyone, here's my favorites for the month of May.

I didn't buy any new makeup items because I was broke as a joke after paying bills, but hopefully you all enjoy.=]
Nivea A Kiss of Milk & Honey: LOVE this product. OBSESSED with the smell. ADORE how moisturizing how this lip balm is. Really, I've been addicted to the softlips products ever since they came out and I'm usually in swapping those for chapsticks because they're simple and they work like magic. [and my mom always has them lying around so i dont have to pay =/]
For about $3 the stick itself it really large and I'm gladddd. I slather this stuff on as soon as i wake up, after I brush my teeth, before I go to bed... are you getting the point? Try this product and lemme know if you love it nearly as much as I do.

Ulta Professional Lacquer in Cocktail Waitress: I did a nail polish post about the ULTA brand and this was one of the items featured. It's a high sheen cherry red, and when the sunlight hits it it kinda shimmers.. but without sparkles or glitter, which I love. It's been on my toes since the beginning of May and I just keep removing and reapplying it.
Orly Nail Polish in Blue Collar: I'm not a huge fan of blue polishes for one reason or another, but I really really REALLY like this pastel blue color. It's kind of a midtone skyblue color that looks really nice with my complexion.

Bath and Body Works Warm Milk & Honey Sleep Mist: Going along with the Milk &Honey scent is this super comforting body mist. It says it's a sleep mist but I've been using this in the middle of the day before I go to lunch with friends, and I even spray just a teeny bit on my pillow at night and it smells sooo friggin good, and ultimately puts me to sleep like a baby.

elf Professional Blush in Candid Coral: I am so impressed with elf. The brand is so affordable and they have great products. You really can't complain. The picture isn't accurate of how it looks in life. It's a peach blush with tons of golden shimmer scattered throughout. I use this shade as a cheek highlight because when it's applied it gives my skin a natural glow that I haven't been able to accomplish with any other product. LOVE.

NYX Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie: So I finally grew up and bought myself some lipsticks, and this is probably my favorite [for right now]. If you're unfamiliar with NYX lipsticks they're creamy like butter. literally like butter. And the color payoff is incredible, I think I paid $4 for this when ULTA was having their buy2 get 1 free sale. Who knows, they might still be running this promotion so check around and get yourself some great lipsticks.

***I FORGOT TO TAKE INDIVIDUAL PICS OF THIS PRODUCT. SORRY***

Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Gel: My skin broke out like crazy this month, and aside from my regular cleansing routine I whipped this baby out after drying my face and whaaa-laa... a few days later acen was completey gone. thank god.

APRIL FAVORITES - 2011

Hey Everyone !!!
So the past 2 weeks have been insanity, I made it through finals, had to rush my mother to the ER and now I'm finally back home and getting settled into my old room =]
I've been hanginout with old friends and shopping like a madwoman, so I finally took the time to sit down and get together some of my April Favorites.
There's not really anything new, because I was saving up for a vacation that I'm goin on in the next couple days.. but here's what I came up with

Almay Moisturing Eye Makeup Remover Pads: I think I bought these at Target for $4. It comes with 80 really really thin pads, completely soaked in eyemakeup remover. It's gentle in case you have really sensitive eyes, and it's definitely moisturizng. The one thing I don't like about these is after taking off all the makeup from my eyes there's that weird oily film around them. But I'm willing to deal with that, because these literally take off every last bit of makeup I'm wearing.

Maybelline FITme! Liquid Foundation: I've blogged about this foundation before, and I'm doin it again. SORRY. But I really do like this foundation. It's perfect when the weather's like 60-70.. I dunno. But it works really well at evening out my complexion without making my face feel cakey or anything. I'm probably gonna be switching foundations in the near future though, as the weather warms up I don't wanna have to worry about my foundation literally melting off my face. hah

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Concealer Kit: I've had this particular container of concealer since last summer and it's finally almost empty... BUT when I went looking for a new on the other day... it wasn't even with the Neutrogena products. GONE. =[ If anyone knows if Neutrogena stopped making this product lemme know, because this is seriously my favorite concealer all year round.

St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub: I mentioned in another post that my skin was acting up and I had a bunch of bad breakouts, and this scrub nearly saved my life. I had used it back in highschool for a while and then just never went back to it. But now I'm back, and I'm hooked. The little scrubbies in it around rough, and it does a really good job of just making my face feel really clean and rejuvenated. Definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone !

e.l.f Bronzer & Powder Brush: I use the bronzer brush to apply my cheek colors. I find that it's the perfect shape for that area.
And I use the Powder brush for applying a setting powder after foundation. For $1 each, I'm really please with both of these e.l.f. products. There's rarely been any of the bristles of either brush falling out and winding up on my face. So if you're new in makeup and don't wanna shell out $30-50 on MAC brushes, I definitely suggest these babies.

I'll be going on vacation on Tuesday so sorry, I probably won't be uploading any new makeup looks until after I get back.

March Favorites !

Hi Everyone !
Sorry, I've been away for about a week or so, school has taken taken over my world and I've been living in the library since 2weeks ago.. the life of a science major is so sad =[
But I finally left the library and took the time to sit down and pull together some of my most used items from March.
Here is it, ENJOY

I didn't really have any big makeup purchases this month because I've been tryin to pay off bills, a vacation and credit cards =/ so I've been reaching for some things that I've had and forgot about.

Revlon Tropical Temptation: This super creamy coral nailpolish has been on my toes since the middle of February and it probably will be my number one choice as we get further into the warmer months

Revlon Gray Suede: On the opposite end of the color spectrum is Gray Suede. I cannot live without this color and it's really hard for me to take it off and try to pick another color to paint my fingers. The color is kind of hard to describe because it's not exactly tan, or grey.. it's more of a light mauvey-gray combination that I'm completely in love with. I did a NOTD featuring this color, if you're interested in learning more about it.

NARS Blush in Amour: I purchased this in January I think and never even took it out of the box until March. Sad, I know. This blush gives a nice light pink flush to the cheeks without making you look like a Barbie doll. Nice for warm weather and light eyemakeup
Elf Mineral Eyeshadows in Celebrity(left) and Wild(right): I'll admit that I've been pretty skeptical about elf's makeup products only because they're so cheap. Even though there are plenty of great reviews in the YouTube community and Blog world I've steered clear of their products...until last month when I saw these 2 shadows being sold together for $5 at Target. I figured I'd try them out and maybe like them. The day after I bought these, I fell in love. The color payoff if fantastic and Wild is a shade of brown I've never came across
- SWATCHED OVER TOO FACED SHADOW INSURANCE-
Celebrity (Left) - Shimmery Taupe color with small gold flecks.
Wild (Right) - Matte Dark Chocolate Brown with gold shimmer.

In addition to the 2shadows in the $5 deal, it came with the elf Eyeshadow Brush. Which I'm also a fan of, it's especially dense for picking up the mineral eyeshadows and virtually eliminates any fall out that would happen with a regular brush. 2 thumbs WAY up for elf. =D

L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara: You may have noticed that I've been using this more in some of the LOOKS posted, and that's because it gives my lashes some of the most dramatic volume I've ever seen. Simply put, there's not a drugstore mascara that can really compete with this..in my opinion.

DKNY Ripe Raspberry: from the Candy Apples collection. I bought this last summer in NY visiting a friend and never really fell inlove with it. Yeah, I thought it smelled pretty good.. but I wasn't dying over it. I wore it recently just going to class and the kid next to me was like "You smell like a lollipop" haha, and since then it's grown on me. I think it smells exactly like crushed raspberries sprinkled with sugar. Delicious =D

2010 FAVORITES

Hi Girls ! I hope everyone's holidays were great and hopefull the snow didn't ruin your shopping the day after =]

2010 was an interesting year for me, and I'll definitely remember it as one of the most successful years of my entire life. I made alot of money, kept some really great friends, lost some who weren't so great, got good grades, and managed to stay healthy and happy throughout it all.
Also this year, I fell deeply in love. With Makeup. Lots and lots of makeup. Different brands, different products, just completely in love and almost obsessed with makeup.
So without further ado, I'm going to jump right into my favorites for this year - These are the products that I think are great and won't be giving up any time in the near future.

1. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

This moisturizer was a must for me in the summer, my skin gets super gross and oily when the temperature gets above 60. I was looking for something to hydrate my skin, but not make it any more oily, and this product does it. It's perfect and I've been using it since May. If you have comination or oily skin, I definitely recommend this to you. Clinique also has this product in a lotion for those of you with drier skin.

2. Urban Decay's Naked Palette

Anyone who has this palette I'm sure will agree with me, it's amazing ! I bought it the day it came out and 3 days later went back to ULTA and bought another one. I use it whenever I'm in a rush to class and don't wanna look completely undone, when I want a simple smokey look, when I wanna look refreshed and awake, there's just so many looks that can be accomplished using this palette.

3. NYC Liquid Eyeliner

At around $2-3, alot of people wouldn't even think about using this because, let's face it, you have to pay for quality right? True. But I pay the 2-3bucks for pretty friggin good quality eyeliner. I bought my first tube in March and just used it up before Thanksgiving... Yeah. And I can honestly say that from at least August-Thanksgiving I used it every.single.day. Before this liquid liner, I was using NYCs Pencil liner, and needed a product with more precision, and the liquid liner does exactly that. The slim brush applicator literally glides along my eyelid and dries super fast.

4. L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional Magic Perfecting Base

This 0.5oz jar of foundation primer has been a product I've been using almost everyday since I bought it. I purchased mainly because I liked how it felt [ it has a mousse-like texture] and after using it once I've been sold. At around $10-12[depending where you buy it] this is an excellent alternative to pricey primers like Smashbox's and Urban Decay's. The Jar I've been using was opened in August I think, and I'd say I have about 2more weeks use... not bad.

5. FLOSS

This is super random, but I had a dentist appointment last February and was absolutely shocked when she told me I had cavities. She suggested flossing in the morning and nightitme before I brush in order to loosen the food out of my teeth so it could be cleaned away by my toothbrush. And I'm hooked. I have floss in my purse, in my makeupbag, bathroom, I'm a compulsive flosser. But it's not the worse thing in the world I guess. I floss literally after every meal like a nutcase =D

This is pretty short, Sorry. but Hope you enjoy.
