LOOK: Raised CatEye

Hi Everyone !

I decided to upload one of my favorite nighttime looks. ever. It's a really simple smokey raised cat eye, but this look can go wrong in alot of ways if you don't take your time.
The most difficult part of the look is the placement of the black eyeshadow.
Apply too much and you have to start all over
Don't get the position right, and you have to start all over
The finished product is 100% worth the trouble, so don't be intimidated.

Another thing that I love about this look is the versatility it allows.
You can change the eyelid color to pretty much anything and it'll still look amazing.
I typically use a champagne or a neutral shimmer just to make sure it goes with whatever I'm wearing that night.

I'm blabbing too much hahah, ENJOY =D
FACE

L'Oreal Studi Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
Revlon Colorstay & Revlon Photoready Liquid Foundation - Both in Caramel

***TIPS***
After applying your eyelid color, apply creep starting at the crease and work into your eye.
Without picking up more product 'raise' the color UP & IN.
After you get the desired shape, apply Creep from the edge of lashline to where the color starts in the crease.
Blend the edge of Creep with a very small smount of Gunmetal

NOTD: PERFECT RED NAILS

Hi Everyone
Here's another NOTD post. So a few weeks ago while I was at the mall with my friend we stopped in some salon and noticed there was a BOGO sale on OPI polishes. Of course I had to take advantage and not only did I save $8.50 but I found the perfect red polish.
I've had trouble with some other reds previously.. too dark, too thick, too sheer.., but when I saw this color I figured I'd try it out, and a girl can never have too many red polishes in her collection .

I DIED
2 even coats and this is what I got. Opaque. Shiny. Red.
I've already painted my fingers AND toes this color.
& if you don't think that's a big deal, lemme explain.. I never paint my fingers and toes the same color.
I never have, and never thought I would but O'Hare & Nails Look Great kinda changed my life
If you haven't found a 'life changing' Red polish, I suggest trying this color out.

TAG: How Much is Your Face Worth ?

Hi Everyone !!
So one of my favorite kind of posts, are TAGS. So here's one for you guys
The idea of it, is to get together all of your everyday makeup and figure out how much your face is worth after using those products.
These are the products I use when I'm in a hurry, and just wanna throw on some eyeliner and mascara and be outta the door
Hopefully this isn't too embarrassing hah, here we go.

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturing Gel
Used everyday since the day I bough this last summer, and will be repurchasing FOREVER.
I have oily skin, and lotions usually make the situation worse
But because this formula is a gel, it glides on and leaves my skin moisturized without making it look like I just painted my face in butter. Highly recommend this if you have oily skin =D
Purchased at Macy's for $26.50
L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base:
My favorite drugstore foundation primer that I've ever used ! It seriously is like magic, and one days when my skin is really good I just throw this on and I'm ready to go. It evens out skin and even diminishes fine lines.
I usually buy this at ULTA or some drugstore for about $12.99

Maybelline FITme! Liquid Foundation
I use the smallest amount of this just to even out my complexion on days when I'm in a rush.. which is usually everyday since I wait until the last minute to run to class
Purchased at Walmart for $6.49

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Concealer Kit
I saw this in a magazine last summer, and fell in love with it. It comes with a cream concealer on the top, and a setting powder on the bottom. I don't use the setting powder however, it's kinda cakey & that's not cute. The concealer though, is my favorite. It's the only one I use.
Purchased at Walmart for $12.99

Benefit Powderflage
MIRACLE SETTING POWDER
Seriously.
I use this to set my concealer under my eyes, and it brightens them up so much.
Love Love Love Love LOVE this product. & it lasts foreverrrr
I bought the container that I'm using today In August last year, and I shit you not, I haven't even used half of this stuff yet. And I use it everyday.. Religiously. Even without concealer. And it comes with a small fan brush, that I don't use. A fluffy eyeshadow brush works better for me
Purchased at Sephora for $28

NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder in Translucent Highlighter Glow
I have at least 6 Translucent Face Powders and I'm always reaching for this one.
Pretty self explanatory, it sets all my face makeup & it works pretty nicely.
Purchased at Walmart for about $2

NARS Powder Blush in Dolce Vita
FAVORITE BLUSH. EVER [?]
It's a mauvey rose color with just a teeny bit of sheen and when applied to the apples of my cheeks.... is fantastic.
If you know anything about NARS blushes, you know that the pigmentation is amazing and how smoothly they apply. If you don't have any in your collection, I highly recommend you buy some.
They've changed my life.
Purchased at Sephora for $27

Too Faced Shadow Insurance
I bought this last summer after I got wayy too fed up with cutting apart my UD Primer Potion over and over again trying to get all the product out. This has a squeeze tube and it made it really easy to apply with my fingers. I think I like Shadow Insurance a little bit more than UD's primer =/. I find that it keeps all of my eyeshadows on, no matter what brand. With UD I noticed that it works best with UD shadows.. which is kind of a bummer but whatever.
The consistency is thicker than UD's but glides on clear
Purchased at Ulta for $18

NYC Liquid Eyeliner in Jet Black
I've never used another liquid eyeliner that I really love. I've had problems with L'Oreal's famous liquid felt tip liner, but found it got flaky through out the day, which definitely isNOT cute.
and this was only $2. So you can't really go wrong. NYC makes decent products at really affordable prices

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes
Separates
Volumizes
Need I say more?
It's perfect, and I always find myself reaching for it. I have like 10 other mascaras that I have but this is by far my favorite
Purchased at Walmart for $7

TOTAL FACE VALUE : $142.97

NOTD: Lincoln Center

Hi Everyone !
Here's a really quick NOTD

So I've always taken note of NYC nail products whenever I'm in a drugstore but I've never purchased any colors. When I was at Walmart a few weeks ago I finally decided to pay the $1.72 and buy the color I had been staring at for 10 minutes.
NYC's quick drying nail polish in Lincoln Center

The label claims that it dries in 60seconds, and although I didn't use a stopwatch while I was painting my nails, I thing NYC is pretty quick drying.. a minute might be pushin it though.
I painted my left hand starting from my little finger and working in and by the time I applied my first coat to my thumb the polish on my pink finger was ready for another coat.

It's shown here with 2 coats. The first coat was uneven, and not as deep as I wanted. But if you're looking for a cherry color, 1 coat will do it.
All in all im kind of impressed with this polish. For less than $2 I'm not mad at all. I painted my nails Thursday night and it's 2:06am Tuesday.. and there are only a few chips... but I wash dishes every night and have a nervous habit of chipping polish in classes
Try it out for yourself =D

LOOK: Spring Fever

Hi Everyone !
Here's another spring look !! This one takes advantage of some colors from my bhcosmetics palette that I've barely even touched, so that was exciting. And it's completely wearable - I wore it out shopping and to dinner a few nights ago and didn't get any of those akward stares.

March Favorites !

Hi Everyone !
Sorry, I've been away for about a week or so, school has taken taken over my world and I've been living in the library since 2weeks ago.. the life of a science major is so sad =[
But I finally left the library and took the time to sit down and pull together some of my most used items from March.
Here is it, ENJOY

I didn't really have any big makeup purchases this month because I've been tryin to pay off bills, a vacation and credit cards =/ so I've been reaching for some things that I've had and forgot about.

Revlon Tropical Temptation: This super creamy coral nailpolish has been on my toes since the middle of February and it probably will be my number one choice as we get further into the warmer months

Revlon Gray Suede: On the opposite end of the color spectrum is Gray Suede. I cannot live without this color and it's really hard for me to take it off and try to pick another color to paint my fingers. The color is kind of hard to describe because it's not exactly tan, or grey.. it's more of a light mauvey-gray combination that I'm completely in love with. I did a NOTD featuring this color, if you're interested in learning more about it.

NARS Blush in Amour: I purchased this in January I think and never even took it out of the box until March. Sad, I know. This blush gives a nice light pink flush to the cheeks without making you look like a Barbie doll. Nice for warm weather and light eyemakeup
Elf Mineral Eyeshadows in Celebrity(left) and Wild(right): I'll admit that I've been pretty skeptical about elf's makeup products only because they're so cheap. Even though there are plenty of great reviews in the YouTube community and Blog world I've steered clear of their products...until last month when I saw these 2 shadows being sold together for $5 at Target. I figured I'd try them out and maybe like them. The day after I bought these, I fell in love. The color payoff if fantastic and Wild is a shade of brown I've never came across
- SWATCHED OVER TOO FACED SHADOW INSURANCE-
Celebrity (Left) - Shimmery Taupe color with small gold flecks.
Wild (Right) - Matte Dark Chocolate Brown with gold shimmer.

In addition to the 2shadows in the $5 deal, it came with the elf Eyeshadow Brush. Which I'm also a fan of, it's especially dense for picking up the mineral eyeshadows and virtually eliminates any fall out that would happen with a regular brush. 2 thumbs WAY up for elf. =D

L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara: You may have noticed that I've been using this more in some of the LOOKS posted, and that's because it gives my lashes some of the most dramatic volume I've ever seen. Simply put, there's not a drugstore mascara that can really compete with this..in my opinion.

DKNY Ripe Raspberry: from the Candy Apples collection. I bought this last summer in NY visiting a friend and never really fell inlove with it. Yeah, I thought it smelled pretty good.. but I wasn't dying over it. I wore it recently just going to class and the kid next to me was like "You smell like a lollipop" haha, and since then it's grown on me. I think it smells exactly like crushed raspberries sprinkled with sugar. Delicious =D
